Attentive AI Raises USD 7 Mn in Series A Funding

21th Feb, 2024
Attentive.ai, a trailblazing startup in the construction and landscaping software arena, just secured a cool $7 million in a Series A funding round to broaden its horizons across new markets. Shiva Dhawan, the dynamic CEO of Attentive.ai, shared the exciting news via a LinkedIn post this past Wednesday, with Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India spearheading the funding efforts.

TechCrunch dropped the details on Thursday, highlighting that this Delaware-based innovator is revolutionizing business management in the construction and landscaping world with its cutting-edge AI-driven platform. This platform is a game-changer, offering automation that makes bidding on contracts a breeze for contractors and landscapers by using automated site measurements. It’s an essential tool for those in landscaping, paving, facilities upkeep, and even snow management.

Gone are the days, as Dhawan points out to TechCrunch, of manual site measurements that would drag on for hours or even days. Now, a simple address input does the trick. The platform uses computer vision to sift through aerial imagery of the site, providing accurate data swiftly. Plus, Attentive.ai is stepping up its game with generative AI for automatic scheduling, making property and job management smoother than ever.

This Series A funding round couldn’t be more timely, with AI’s role in venture capital pitches skyrocketing—making up 80% of proposals recently.

Diving into the broader industry perspective, PYMNTS had a chat last year with Patrick Murphy, CEO of Togal.AI, revealing how their ChatGPT integration has been a real conversation starter in the construction sector. This integration transforms accessing a vast library of construction data into a simple chat, tackling questions about building specs or the number of toilets needed for a particular building size as if you were chatting with a buddy.

Murphy shed light on the daily “silly errors” that the construction industry grapples with—not out of negligence but due to oversight. He’s convinced that generative AI has the potential to rectify 75% of these profit-draining mistakes soon.

In his view, AI is the key to efficiently and affordably digesting the wealth of existing data and applying those insights to future projects, marking a significant leap forward for the industry.
